Today’s fun fact: 27 years after Amelia Earhart’s failed attempt, Geraldine “Jerrie” Mock completed the first round-the-world solo flight by a woman on April 17th, 1964. It took her 29 days, 11 hours, and 59 days to complete the 23,103 mile journey. When asked about her nearly 1 month flight, Mock said it was “a better experience than flying on Spirit Airlines.”
